When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know, but it you listen, you may learn something new
— Dalai Lama
One might expect that someone with a degree in communications (who is admittedly not mathematically inclined) would not enter the field of public accounting nor remain there for over two decades. One would be wrong. After taking an administrative position in the tax department at a Big 4 firm, she realized she had unexpectedly found her groove, providing and coordinating administrative support to tax teams in different localities.
So, 20(ish) years later, she found herself wanting to work with a progressive firm that would provide her with an evolving platform to positively impact the lives of the CPAs she supports and take her skills to the next level. Being Filipino, an added bonus was being able to work closely with Dark Horse’s Philippines team. The best relationships in life tend to be the ones that benefit both parties. And such is the case between Rheena and Dark Horse.
Rheena’s other full-time position is being a mom to her two daughters, supporting them in their endeavors in dance (her eldest) and volleyball (her youngest). Much of her time is spent driving to and from competitions and tournaments, practices and rehearsals, and ensuring they have everything they need. With the limited time remaining for herself, she loves to read books (the physical copies, not the digital versions) and lounge on the couch, immersing herself in various shows and movies.
